From time to time, Mary Cariola Center offers our CEO's Blog to our loyal and generous sponsors. This month we feature a blog from Lawley Insurance, a longtime sponsor and supporter of the agency. We thank them for their support and look forward to our Walking on Sunshine event, September 18-20, an event Lawley has long supported.
Forging impactful and strong relationships between organizations within a community is critical for education, engagement, and opportunity. That’s why we are so happy that Lawley has been able to be a working partner for Mary Cariola for the past few decades.
Lawley is an independent, regional firm of insurance professionals specializing in property and casualty insurance, employee benefits, risk management, and personal insurance consulting. They strive to be the partner of choice for their customers, including Mary Cariola. This idea is supported by Lawley’s core beliefs and helps them act as one voice and one vision, ensuring that they are always looking out for the best interests of their community and clients.
Besides being a great partner for business, Lawley has also been instrumental in helping the Rochester community and beyond through charitable and volunteer efforts. Within the company, Lawley associates have formed the TLC (Team Lawley Cares) committee. They meet monthly to discuss needs within the communities in which they serve. Recently, the Lawley TLC committee held a day of caring and helped clean up and paint the children’s play area on Elmwood Avenue in Rochester. Partners at Lawley (Phil Andolina, Jim Verdi, Mark Verdi, and Matt Weins), along with the entire Lawley team, were also instrumental in providing funds to finish off the fundraising for a playground within their community.
As a whole, the Lawley organization believes in donating time, as well as funds, to help make a difference and create positive change in the world. Lawley associates are known to be at volunteer functions for nonprofits across the Central New York region – embodying one of Lawley’s core values, “commitment to our communities.”
Mary Cariola and Lawley work together seamlessly because they share a very similar vision. Mary Cariola focuses on providing families with innovative programs to individuals with complex disabilities and a myriad of services to their families. As their partner, Lawley sees all of the good that Mary Cariola provides in the Rochester community and beyond and believes it is organizations like Mary Cariola that help create better citizens. Plus we’re proud to protect Mary Cariola, their employees, and their mission.
Lawley is also particularly proud of their Best Places to Work Awards as the results are based on surveys completed by their associates. Employees of Lawley love their family-oriented culture, passion for having fun, superior benefits/perks, and the abundance of growth and educational opportunities throughout the organization – just to name a few! From a leadership prospective, Lawley believes that they must start at the top, living the values and promoting their favorite saying “work hard, play hard.” They feel that this saying also falls in line with the mission of Mary Cariola – encouraging families to both work hard and play hard in their community with all of the amazing resources they provide to anyone who comes to them for help.
