Happy New Year!
On the heels of a year celebrating 70 years of service to the Rochester region, Mary Cariola Children’s Center is proud to announce an evolution of our brand and identity. Today, our independent non-profit agency unveiled a new brand name and logo and will now be known as “Mary Cariola Center,” with a new tagline of, “Transforming Lives of People with Disabilities.” The name evolution provides the community a better understanding of both the mission of the agency as well as the population we serve.
Mary Cariola Center serves an 11 county region that includes 48 school districts as each day nearly 500 students aged 3-21 come to school to learn, to have fun, to make friends and reach milestones once thought impossible. Additionally, Mary Cariola Center’s residential and community services program serves 44 individuals who call Cariola home in one of six residences. Each day these individuals experience not only what they can offer the community, but what the community can offer them.
The name change truly reflects the evolution of our agency. While we are embarking on our next 70 years with a new name and logo, our mission remains the same as we further our commitment in “transforming the lives of people with disabilities. It’s also an important point that once someone with complex disabilities turns 18, they are no longer “children” and therefore deserve the respect and support that adulthood brings.”
Mary Cariola Center has actually been serving adults for over 15 years and will continue to support the needs of all people with disabilities including adults who are not necessarily supported right now.
The brand name and logo was determined over the course of one-year and is based on stakeholder research that included Mary Cariola Center staff, donors, parents and key community leaders.
