Join us on ROC the Day—November 28, 2023
“Sometimes up to half of our Mary Cariola graduates are not well transitioned into adult day programs. We have to ask ourselves, what would Mary (Cariola) do? Much like she did, we have to create what doesn’t exist,” said Mary Cariola President/CEO Karen Zandi.
Our ROC the Day efforts will raise funds to create a much-needed site-based Day Habilitation Program to support individuals with intensive needs. The program will offer clinical services to address significant behavioral challenges and provide therapeutic support that is critical to being successfully engaged in adult programs.
In addition to many of our recent graduates, Chrissy, Amber, Alcide and Stephanie are just a few of our residents hoping for more meaningful, structured and productive days. With no adult Day Program to attend, they spend each day at their Mary Cariola residential homes, keeping busy with chores, occasionally completing small tasks at Mary Cariola school, and looking for opportunities to engage with our community. They want a daily routine. They want to connect with peers. They want to work on independence and individual goals. They want a Day Habilitation program that meets their needs.
We want and need your help to make it happen. In the spirit of Mary Cariola herself, who started our Agency with one small classroom and seven students, let’s create a site-based Day Habilitation program for these deserving individuals. Will you be like Mary and make this happen?
